Meet Dr. Rice
Dr. Jasmen Rice, Psy.D earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and completed her doctoral internship at Northwell Health – Staten Island University Hospital. She completed her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Dr. Rice primarily works with older adults with thinking and memory problems, usually causing concern for neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. She also has experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations of refugees, neuro-oncology patients, as well as individuals with movement disorders and multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Rice has published works on a variety of topics, including interventions for dementia caregivers, delirium, and flashbulb memories. She has presented scholarly work at a number of national and international conferences, served as a consultant and guest speaker for several support groups, and has led mental health workshops. Her clinical interests include cognitive impairment and dementia care, as well as intervention for caregivers. In addition, Dr. Rice is interested in, and dedicated to, eliminating the racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare, especially for older adults.
